Experience the Rugged State of Wyoming

Famous for wild and rugged beauty, the State of Wyoming remains one of the most untouched and underdeveloped states in the nation. Wyoming is rated third in the list of the nation’s most livable states. This is no doubt due to the fresh air and abundant and rich natural resources provided by the land. Acquired by the United States in the Louisiana Purchase, Wyoming is home to such legendary people as the famous scout Buffalo Bill and the explorer and mountain man Thomas Fitzpatrick. Not short on artistic heritage, Wyoming also produced the famous painter Jackson Pollock and writer Ted Olson.

Along with ranching, Wyoming natives survive off the natural resources of the land by mining oil and natural gas. The world’s leading supplier in sodium carbonate and the nation’s second biggest resource for uranium, it is no wonder that Wyoming has escaped its resources being plowed over by high rise hotel chains, department stores and metropolitan cities taking over.

If you’re in the mood for real live cowboy-style entertainment, Wyoming hosts major rodeos on a weekly basis, showing off the skills of barrel racing, bull riding and bull-dogging. This wild and rowdy state is one of the last remaining states that can claim exquisite and untouched natural beauty. Campers and hikers should be on the lookout for the wandering bear who may meander into the campsite in search of a snack.
